ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Thursday issued notices to mobile phone companies, Islamabad police IG, interior ministry, ministry of information technology and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority in case pertaining to use of illegal SIMs in the country.

IHC Chief Justice Anwar Kasi was hearing a petition moved by GM Chaudhry Advocate, who told the court that according to a Jang/The News report there were 4 million non-registered SIMs in Pakistan.

The petitioner contended that CEO of a company, whose SIM is used in any criminal activity, should also be declared co-accused in the case. The court issued the notices, seeking response within 10 days.
