Police takes 44 suspects into custody in Karachi

KARACHI: Police in a raid in Mawachko area on Sunday rounded up four accused on charges of targeted killings and collection of extortion besides 40 others for involvement in a hand grenade attack in the locality of Agha Khan community in SITE area a day earlier.

DIG West Javed Odho at a press conference said those arrested from Mawachko area include Ghulam alias Mullah, Muhammad Haroon, Mazhar and Zohaib. They were wanted for involvement in more than 50 activities of targeted killings and extortion, he added.

He said 40 other suspects have been taken into custody for involvement in a hand grenade attack on a locality of Agha Khan community in SITE area.

The DIG West said the suspects include a group which has been involved in carrying out attacks on Agha Khan community in the past while some are those who used to make fake police cards.
