Earthquake shakes Chitral, Ghizer and Swat

ISLAMABAD: An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on the Richter scale struck Chitral, Ghizer and Swat areas on early Saturday.

According to metrological department, the epicenter of the earthquake was determined on Afghanistan-Tajikistan border at a focal depth of 80 kilometres.

The seismic activity jolted the areas around 5:27AM (PST), spreading panic among the people, however no casualties were reported.
