ISLAMABAD: The failing members of parliament have been given one more chance to submit the details of their assets and liabilities with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the working hours today in a bid to avoid suspension of their memberships, Geo News reported.

The members of senate, national assembly and the four provincial assemblies were asked to submit the details of their assets and liabilities under the Public Representation Act and the memberships of those failing to do so were to have been suspended through a notification by October 15, however, ECP didn’t issue the notification due to Eid holidays and even yesterday it was not issued.

ECP secretary said that the notification relating to suspension of memberships of the failing parliamentarians would be issued today and prior to that the failing MPs could avail of the opportunity to avoid suspension of their memberships.
