KARACHI: The spate of firing has stopped after the two warring groups in Lyari entered into a ceasefire, while Rangers continuing their search operation have taken into custody several suspects in Kumharwara area here, Geo News reported Monday morning.
Sources said that the Rangers conducting a search operation late at night at Kumharwara hauled up several suspects.
On the other hand, police and Rangers conducting raids in different parts of the city including Lyari, Memon Nagar, Muzaffarabad Colony, Singu Lane, Dera Rahmat, Hazara Chowk, Nazimabad, Frontier Colony, Metroville, SITE and other areas apprehended over 85 accused and recovered different types of small and heavy 287 weapons.
The activists of banned outfits, and persons affiliated with different political parties allegedly involved in extortion and target killing are included among the accused detained by the police and Rangers.
Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested a target killer belonging to a political party and recovered weapon from him at Shamsi Society, Malir.
