KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued notices to Sindh Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police and Director General Rangers over 51 identical petitions pertaining to no-go areas in Karachi.

The petitions were filed by citizens in the apex court. The notices were issued during the hearing of Karachi law and order case at the Karachi registry of the country’s top court on Tuesday.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhamamd Chauhdry asked Karachi Police Chief Shahid Hyat to take across the board action and assured him of court’s backing.

He asked the CCPO to take apolitical measures for restoring peace in the city. The CCPO told the court that the Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) was facing problems in carrying out their activities in different parts of the city and their existed some political issues as well.
