Dengue death toll rises to 8 in Punjab

LAHORE: Two people lost their lives to the dengue virus in Punjab, raising the death toll in the province to eight.

During the last 24 hours, 59 dengue cases were confirmed in the province. Figures by the provincial health department state that 440 patients are being treated for dengue in hospitals.

Doctors and health experts have urged people to be cautious as the virus will continue to spread until temperatures drop to 16 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, people have complained that the health department instead of wasting time monitoring should have concentrated on conducting fumigation drives.
