PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman Tuesday said that the government has decided to take the dialogue process forward, Geo News reported.

“One political party is trying to engage in a ‘solo flight’ on this issue and claim the entire credit for it,” Fazl said while talking to media persons here without mentioning the name of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He said the US drone strike that killed Hakimullah Mehsud, chief of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), dealt a blow to the proposed peace talks. “The matter of holding a dialogue with the Taliban is a sensitive issue and no political party should try to do a ‘solo flight’ on the same,” he added.

He said adopting a separate stance by every party only disintegrates the national integrity. Giving a deadline for blocking the NATO supply line would also not qualify as being an appropriate action, he added.

The JUI-F chief regretted that despite adoption of several resolutions by the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) no legislation could be made and this allowed extremism to only grow further.
