SIC wants Mullah Omar to stop Pakistani Taliban

LAHORE: Over 100 Muftis, Mashaikh and Ulema associated with Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) have urged Mullah Omar to order the Pakistani Taliban to stop their terrorist activities and woo them to accept the Islamic Constitution of the Islamic state.

According to a SIC statement issued here Sunday, the government of Pakistan and its people had recognized the Taliban rule in Afghanistan in the past. Therefore, it is now Mullah Omar’s duty to play his role towards bringing peace in Pakistan, they added.

They said that Mullah Omar should also force the Pakistani Taliban to lay down arms, adopt a path to peace and accept the government’s authority.
