9th Muharram processions culminate in Pakistan

KARACHI: Muharram processions taken out in several cities of the country to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and his companions, are now about to culminate, Geo News reported.

According to our correspondents, late night processions would also be taken out in different cities of the country.

The 9th Muharram procession in Karachi concluded at the Imam Bargah Husainia Irania after passing trough its traditional routes.

The mourners taking part in the procession paid homage to martyrs of Karbala.

A huge religious gathering related to Youme-Ahsura was held at the Nishtar Park after which the participants setout for Hussainia Iranian in a procession amid tight security arrangements with heavy deployment of police and paramilitary soldiers.

All the roads leading to MA Jinnah road were closed for traffic after erecting shipping containers.

Ambulances and Fire Brigade were put on high alert to cope with any emergency. The procession was monitored through closed circuit cameras.
