It is impossible to hold LB elections on Jan 18 in Sindh: Khuhro

KARACHI: Provincial Senior Minister Nisar Khuhro has said that it is impossible to hold local bodies (LB) election in Sindh on January 18, adding that they are considering to file appeal in the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s proposed date.

In a statement issued here Tuesday, Khuhro said that the provincial government wanted to hold LB elections, however, he added that it was administratively impossible to hold elections on January 18.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Election Commission of Pakistan has formally decided to conduct LB polls on January 18 in Sindh, January 30 in Punjab and in February in Islamabad and cantonment boards.
