KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr. Farooq Sattar Thursday accused Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) of trying to forcibly bring its own nazims in the next local government set up, Geo News reported.

In his address at a private university here, Dr. Sattar said his party has reservations over, what he called, the amended Sindh Local Government Ordinance 2013. “People’s Party wants to forcibly bring its own nazims.”

He, however, said that it is also a fact that the new nazim or mayor will now have no authority following the introduction of the amended ordinance.

“Prior permission from the Sindh Chief Minister will have to be taken before taking every decision,” he said, adding his party has objections to this.
