KARACHI: A fire broke out at a garment factory located in SITE area of the city late Thursday night, Geo News reported.

Initially, Fire Brigade authorities said a third degree fire erupted at a factory and fire tenders across the city were ordered to reach the scene. However, the fire was doused due to timely action. According to reports, a fire had also erupted at the same factory a year ago.

A couple of days ago, fire engulfed two factories in the city, putting a question mark on the fire department’s performance. Following the incidents, media reports said the department has run out of fire-extinguishing foam.

Last year, over 200 people were burnt alive at a garment factory located in Baldia Town. But the authorities perhaps still wait for another tragedy before they mend their ways.
