SUKKUR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) Amir Maulana Fazlur Rahman Sunday said that Taliban and the terrorists were earlier considered the sign of danger, but now it was the US forces’ further stay in Afghanistan would endanger the region, Geo News reported.

Talking to media here, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that all the political parties would have to get on the same page and rise with one voice for stemming the US on going intervention in the region as well as in Pakistan. Besides, all the countries in the region would also have to get together and formulate a common policy after thorough review of the situation emanating in the region, he said. JUI-F chief further said that the US forces’ presence in the region would continue to be a cause of concern for the people in the region.

As regards blocking of Nato supplies, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that his party after the death of Hakimullah Mehsud had demanded re-convening of the all parties’ conference (APC) in a bid to evolve a common strategy to end the emanating deadlock, but this effort was sabotaged.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that his party rejects the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance in its totality.

As regards Pervez Musharraf’s treason trial he said that it was subjudiced as the matter was in the court and the court has to decide it.
