KARACHI: Sindh government has asked for more time for the holding of local bodies elections in the province, Geo News reported on Sunday.
Provincial Local Bodies Minister, Sharjeel Memon said it would better if the elections were held in March.
In a handout issued here, Sharjeel Memon said that holding LB elections in January were not doable and added more time was required for the holding of transparent elections.
He suggested that the LB elections in Sindh should be held in March and it would be better if LB elections in the entire country were held on the same date.
Sharjeel Memon urged upon the authorities not to make haste in announcing the elections schedule and the use of magnetic ink in the polling should be made mandatory.
