QUETTA: Polling in Balochistan local bodies’ elections appear marred at some places by rivals’ attacks and protest demos against the absence of election symbol on the ballot papers, while at some places polling started late, Geo News reported.
Sources said that the rivals of Muslim League-N candidate and his supporters were attacked during the polling at Warjharai of Kharkhara union council, which resulted in the injuries to several persons.
On the other hand, polling staff at the few polling stations of Khuzdar and Chaman turned up late causing some delay in the beginning of polling.
In Taftan at Pak-Iran border transit gate and zero point gate have been closed, sources said.
While in Dera Murad Jamali the polling was stopped for the missing election symbol of an independent candidate Mir Hasil Khan Solangi from the ballot papers.
