PESHAWAR: The firefighters, after struggling for more than six hours, finally extinguished an infernal blaze that broke out in a cargo warehouse here on Sunday night, Geo News reported.

The fire brigade was called to burning warehouse located on Peshawar’s Ring Road around 10:00 PM.

Sources, however, said that by the time the flames died down, stored merchandise including leather jackets and other stuff worth millions of rupees had turned to ashes.

According to sources on the site, ten fire tenders took part in the operation.

Heavy black smoke filled the sky as crews tried to get the fire under control.

Earlier, fire officials had hoped to have the fire out soon but it took a lot longer than than expected before all the flames were extinguished.
