Cement price per bag hikes beyond Rs500

KARACHI: The price of a bag of cement in Sindh and Balochistan has shot up even beyond Rs500, Geo News reported on Tuesday.

Cement industry sources said that the cement price has been increased in the range of Rs10-20 per bag due to the power tariff hike and rise in the international prices of coal, which has pushed up the per bag price of cement even beyond Rs500.

Analysts said that the price of cement was seen generally declining in winter due to slowdown in the construction sector and thereby lower demand of cement, but due to the increase in cost of production, the price hike was unavoidable.
