PESHAWAR: Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC)'s national jirga on Sunday in a unanimously approved resolution demanded from the government an immediate halt of the military operation in tribal areas, to allow Pakistan Air Force to shoot down the US drone and get out of the US war on terror, Geo News reported.
The resolution announced by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-S (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Huque further stressed on resolving all issues through negotiations, asked the government to hold talks with the Taliban, stop military operation immediately, while those affected during FATA operation should be given compensations.
The jirga-approved resolution also announced observing Kashmir solidarity day on February 5 with great zeal and fervor. Blockade of Nato supply in Khyber Pukhtunkhaw was also supported.
Besides Maulana Samiul Huque, Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed, Difa-e-Pakistan Council’s Hameed Gul and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Liaquat Baloch also attended the jirga.
