Gas shortage intensifies in Sindh, Balochistan

KARACHI: The volume of gas in the system of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has dramatically reduced, intensifying shortage of gas in Sindh and Balochistan provinces.

According to sources, the present demand for gas stands at 1.4 billion cubic feet while the supply is 1.17 bcf.

The sources warned that the situation could get worse in case a prompt action was not taken.

Meanwhile, the SSGC’s emergency meeting is underway to deliberate upon the issue.
