Pillion riding banned in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh government has banned pillion ridding in Karachi as part of security arrangements for New Year celebrations, Geo News reported Tuesday.

All the roads leading to Sea View have been closed while a ban has also been imposed on carrying arms, aerial firing and fireworks. The pillion riding will remain banned till Wednesday morning.

Karachiites, especially residents of Clifton and Defence have been facing difficulties in reaching their homes as police have placed containers on the roads leading to the beach.

Police have warned the residents of Defence and Clifton not to come out of their houses.
