KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Thursday night recommended civil award for the Superintendent of (CID) Police Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam who embraced martyrdom in a Taliban suicide attack, Geo News reported.
"Aslam embraced martyrdom for the country and he is a role model for police force", Dr Ebad further said.
In his tributary message the governor glorified Chaudhry Aslam's always going an extra mile in the line of duty and rendering his duties without succumbing to serious life threats.
"He was one of those rare battle-hardened cops who never flinch in the face of clear and present danger evident from his leading some daring operations", he said.
The governor said that Aslam's martyrdom had raised the morale of the police to new heights.
"I believe the law enforces will only this ongoing crusade against terrorists with even more dedication.
It must be noted that fearless Chaudhry Aslam was decorated with a Tamgha-e-Shujaat (medal of valour) on March 23, 2012.
