KARACHI: A postmortem examination on the bodies of martyred Crime Investigation Department (CID) head Chaudhry Aslam and his two subordinates was performed here in a local private hospital, Geo News reported.
On the contrary the body parts of a suspected suicide bomber were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
"Severed human limbs were received by the JPMC’s autopsy performers. We
were told these belonged to the bomber who blew up a roadside improvised explosive device that killed CID chief Chaudhry Aslam and his two men", said the medico-legal officer at the state-run JPMC.
According to Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Shahid Hayat, the investigators are yet not sure whether it was a suicide attack.
"We are investigating this assault from various angles, however, it is a fact that some body parts were found from the blast site, which gives us a reason to believe that it maybe a suicide bombing”, said the city police chief.
