KASHMORE: Three women along with five children jumped into the River Indus, while the body of one child has thus far been recovered and the search for others continued in the Kacha areas on Monday here, Geo News reported.
Police said that a raid was conducted on a tip-off for the arrest of a proclaimed offender, Imdad Bhangwar, which triggered a sense of great fear and panic among the three female relations of the accused, who along with five children jumped into the River Indus. The divers searching for the victims have thus far retrieved the body of a child Asif, 6, while the search for other seven persons continued.
Police said that the proclaimed offender and his two associates had killed Thul police constable a month ago, but in the absence of the accused and his associates, the women in fear escaping their arrest jumped into the river along with the children.
