Mufaddal Bhaisaheb Saifuddin new spiritual head of Bohra community

KARACHI: Syedi Aaliqadr Mufaddal Bhaisaheb Saifuddin has ascended as the new spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, Geo News reported

A spokesman of the Dawoodi Bohra community announced that Syedi Mufaddal Bhaisaheb Saifuddin has assumed as the new head of the Bohra community, following the demise of Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin earlier this morning.

Syedi Mufaddal Bhaisaheb is the second son of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin and he was nominated as successor to the office of Da’i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohras in 2011.

The spokesman said that the Bohra community would observe a three-day mourning. Prayers and condolence meetings would be held in all of their jamaatkhanas. Besides shops and markets of the community would remain closed.

Immediately after the sad news of Syedna Burhanuddin’s demise, the members of the community closed their business houses, shops and markets and gathered at the jamaatkhanas for mourning in Karachi.
