Sources said the Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) vehicle came under attack in Nazimabad.
"The van was parked close to Matric Board Office when motorcycle riding gunmen opened fire at it", sources added.
The shooters fled after riddling the van with bullets.
The attack left technician, Waqas , driver, Khalid, cameraman, Mehtab, and a guard seriously wounded.
The emergency responders quickly ambulanced the casualties to a hospital but the technician, the driver and the guard could not survive.
According to SSP Central, Amir Farooqi, two biker gunmen armed with silencer-fitted .32 calibre pistols gunned the private TV channel's employees down.
As many as 13 of the total 18 spent shell casings of .32 calibre slugs were collected from inside the DSNG, which shows the attackers may have shot the victims at a point-blank range.
The police have started investigation after recording injured cameraman's statement.
