ABBOTABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, Sunday held Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, responsible for the terrorist attacks on security forces of Pakistan, Geo News reported.

"Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman or Sami-ul-Haq alone cannot get the Taliban peace talks off the ground. The prime minister should take the lead in this regard”, said he speaking at a rally in Haripur.

Later, speaking to media, he said that if he were the prime minister he would be spearheading the peace talks.

"Had I been Nawaz Sharif, I would have taken the charge long ago", said Khan.

Terming them an upshot of American war, PTI’s live-wire leader, said that Taliban were non-existent until 2006.

Replying to a question regarding Dr Shakil Afridi, who helped US hunt down al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, Khan said that Afridi was a US spy.

“Will a Pakistani spy be set free if he is caught in US? I don’t think so. Same goes for Afridi”, said he.

He strongly condemned the Bannu tragedy in which Taliban bombed and martyred 20 troops of Pakistan army.
