KARACHI: Schools, universities and colleges remained closed and public transport off the roads due to strike and day of mourning announced by a religious party on Friday (today).

JUI-S leader Maulana Yousuf Shah called for the strike against the killing of Mufti Usman Yar Khan.

The Private School Management Association had said all the private schools will remain closed on Friday. Similarly, Karachi Transport Ittehad president Irshad Bukhari said vehicles will not be brought on roads due to the strike.

All the shopping and business centers were shut in the backdrop of strike while CNG and petrol pumps also remained closed throughout the city.

The Majlis Wehdatul Muslimeen (MWM) had also announced that a ‘peaceful day of mourning’ will be observed across Sindh against Mastung attack.
