PESHAWAR: Roof of an under-construction building at Jamil Chowk collapsed here on Sunday, killing at least one person and injuring more than 20 other workers, Geo News reported.

Rescue sources said that 20 injured persons were immediately retrieved from beneath the huge debris of the roof of an under-construction building that caved in near Jamil Chowk this morning.

The injured persons are being taken to Lady Reading Hospital.

It is feared that some more persons still lying buried under the debris and an operation to rescue them is underway by removing the debris on war-footing, sources said.
