1 dead, many injured as Shalimar Express bogies derail after blast in Karachi

KARACHI: A minor girl was killed and several passengers including women were injured when bogies of a train overturned after an explosion here on Tuesday.

According to reports, as many as eight bogies of the Shalimar Express derailed, reportedly, after a blast somewhere near the Ghaggar Phatak and Dhabeji. All the trains from and to Karachi were stopped following reports of the blast.

Rescue workers, police and Rangers rushed to the area and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals.
