KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain has slammed the death of party worker, Muhammad Adil, who, according to MQM succumbed to the injuries allegedly inflicted upon him while he was in police custody.

In a statement issued from London, Altaf Hussain claimed that the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have trampled under foot the constitution and the law.

He demanded of the president, the prime minister and the interior minister to take notice of the incident and punish the policemen involved in torturing the MQM worker.

According to MQM leaders, Muhammad Adil was detained two days ago from North Karachi. The law enforcement agencies severely tortured him after which the detainee was taken to hospital, they alleged.

The MQM activist succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, they added.
