KARACHI: Sindh High Court on Tuesday heard the case pertaining to alleged police torture on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Fahad Aziz and sought the medical report and Roznamcha (log book) in 15 days, Geo News reported.
The SHC was hearing the torture case on MQM worker Fahad Aziz and ordered police to present the medical report and Roznamcha in 15 days.
The court also issue notices to the parties in the case including DG Rangers, IG Sindh and Karachi Police chief along with others and instructed not to harass Fahad Aziz and his family.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar and Fahad’s father had filed the petition on Monday against the torture on Fahad Aziz. The petition further stated that plain-clothes cop come and take away their workers.
On Sunday, police released Fahad Aziz on personal bond.
Fahad, a resident of Korangi, was arrested while he was leading his Baraat (wedding motorcade) towards a Shah Faisal Colony marriage lawn.
SSP East Pir Muhammad Shah said Fahad was released on personal bond due to his deteriorating heath conditions.
He said that the four policemen including the in-charge of the investigation team had been suspended for torturing Fahad Aziz, whose condition deteriorated and later shifted this morning to a private hospital.
He said action would also be taken against the policemen, involved in torturing Fahad.
