ISLAMABAD: A joint meeting of the committees formed by the government and the Taliban to hold peace dialogue met at the residence of Major (retd) Amir, here on Tuesday.

The meeting was told that the Taliban wanted to hold negotiations with open mind and they are also willing to tell nation good news soon.

According to the government statement issued here Tuesday, the Taliban Shura has given a positive and encouraging reply to the points put forward by the government’s committee.

The statement stated that the joint meeting declared the Taliban’s committee report satisfactory. The future road map would be finalized after consultations over all the relevant issues and recommendations in the next meeting, the statement added.

Maulana Samiul Haq, Professor Ibrahim and Coordinatio Yousuf Shah from Taliban committee, while Irfan Siddiqui, Major (retd) Amir and Rustam Shah Mohmand from the government’s committee were present in the meeting.
