KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan will resume hearing of Karachi law and order case today (Monday).

The Sindh government, the Rangers, police and intelligence agencies, the Pakistan Tele Communication Authority (PTA) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will present their reports about their performance in improving the law and order situation in the metropolis in the light of Supreme Court orders issued in the last hearing on November 29, 2013.

The top court bench had directed authorities concerned to adopt a fool proof system to issue mobile phone SIMs and put in place a system at the Karachi Port to monitor imported items and shipping containers.

The bench had directed authorities to take action against criminal elements on intelligence information and call in the armed forces when the need arose.
