No substance in ‘rumours’ of joining MQM: Afaq

KARACHI: Chairman Mohajir Qaumi Movement, Afaq Ahmed Thursday brushed aside the reports of his joining Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as unfounded.

“I had no relation whatsoever to the MQM in the past nor can it be possible in future,” he clarified while addressing a press conference here at Karachi Press Club.

He said some elders had advised reconciliation with the MQM for the sake of Mohajirs but ‘I cannot bargain on the blood of nation’s youths’.

Afaq Ahmed said the poor Mohajirs can live a prosperous life if Altaf Hussain, the MQM Chief, and his associates spend only 50 percent of their accumulated wealth on their people.
