PESHAWAR: A member of Taliban political Shura Azam Tariq has said that the statements of Shahidullah Shahid and Khalid Khorasani regarding ceasefire do not reflect the stance of the banned outfit Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Talking to Geo News, Azam Tariq said that the statements of Taliban leader on the matter of ceasefire are their personal opinions and media would be informed about the TTP's stance soon.

Earlier, Khalid Khorasani had said that the TTP has not announced an extension in the ceasefire and that the war will start again.

In a statement, Khalid Khorasani claimed that the government had breached its promise during the period of ceasefire and held the state, military and political parties responsible for 'the losses suffered'.

However, Azam Tariq said that the TTP's position on the matter of ceasefire would be announced soon after getting approval from political and media Shuras of the proscribed group.
