LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi denied any ‘grouping’ in the national team and said that Muhammad Hafeez quit as skipper after accepting responsibility for the defeat in Twenty20 against West Indies.

“Good decisions will be made in the next five-six months,” Najam Sethi said while talking to media persons here.

He said he had spoken to all the team players in connection with Pakistan’s defeat in Twenty20 and stepping down of Muhammad Hafeez. “Hafeez demonstrated courage by accepting the responsibility. He wants to give the board a chance to undertake reforms from start,” Sethi observed.

Sethi denied any role in Hafeez’s resignation.

He said a complete analysis of Pakistan’s loss in Twenty20 will be made and new ways will be sorted out in consultation with the experts.

Najam Sethi said the reaction of defeats of England and Australia in their countries was not as strong compared to how Pakistan reacted to its loss in the Twenty20.

He admitted that mistakes were made in selection, coaching and captaincy.
