KARACHI: Police claimed on late Friday night to have arrested two extortionists during a raid in Gizri area of the city.

Both the men had sought extortion from a local trader through means of intimidation, said CPLC chief Ahmed Chenoi.

He said that the two men one of them watchman of the trader had sent an extortion slip with a threatening letter as well as two bullets, demanding Rs1 million.

The CPLC chief said the accused had warned the trader of consequences if he didn’t pay extortion.

He said the trader got a complaint registered with the police and the CPLC after which both the departments carried out a joint raid and arrested the accused who were identified as Ishaq and Bakhtiar.

Chenoi said that two more suspects Amir and Roshan were still at large but the teams have been formed for their arrest.
