ISLAMABAD: Debate on law and order situation in the country with particular reference to the acts of violence occurred during the last few weeks took place in the National Assembly Wednesday.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai said the country is passing through difficult time and onus lies with the political parties to stand united to pull the country out of the current situation.

Voicing concerns over existing law and order situation, Shaikh Rashid Ahmad said security institutions form backbone of the country’s defense and they should not be made controversial.

Taking the floor, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique urged the opposition to do the politics of issues and not entangle the government in nonissues.

He warned that the politics of agitation could push the country into chaos and confusion at a time when positive changes are taking place.

He said the opposition should demonstrate maturity in its conduct and show their performance in their respective provincial governments.

On the dialogue process with Taliban, the Minister said this process will be taken forward after taking into confidence the political leadership.
