ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to discuss national security was held in Islamabad on Tuesday, Geo News reported.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister House where officials are discussed matters related to regional peace and post election situation in the neighbouring countries of India and Afghanistan.

The session was attended by the high-ranked military and civil leaders including Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lt General Zaheerul Islam, Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lt General Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmad, Director General Military Operations, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Adviser to PM on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

Sources told that DG ISI Lt General Zaheerul Islam briefed the members on the security situation during the meeting.
