LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi has said that he would only continue to serve this institution if the Patron wants him to.

Talking at a press conference Najam Sethi emphasized that he is not fond of heading PCB, instead was asked by the Patron to do so.

Speaking to the pressmen at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, he said that he had received the written judgment of the Supreme Court to continue his duties as the PCB chairman.

He further said that the Prime Minister also wanted that there should be a role of the Patron in the decision making of the board.

Answering a question about rooting out corruption from Pakistan cricket, the chairman said that this was one of the reasons he wanted Rashid Latif as chief selectors to send the right message, but unfortunately it could not materialize and hoped that he would be able to persuade him to have a role in the future.

He also asked the players to remain hopeful and ready as the board was trying to bring cricket back to Pakistan.

On the inquiry of reporters about the constitution, Najam Sethi told them that the draft of the constitution had been sent for approval.
