Alliance formation is democratic right of political parties: Shah

SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah has said that he is not against formation of any political alliance as he said that it is a democratic right of political parties.

Talking to media here Friday, the opposition leader in the National Assembly said that the political parties should ensure that their alliance should be against the government and not against the country.

Shah further said that although a political alliance is being made against the Nawaz Sharif’s government, he added that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would play its role to defend democracy.

He further said that Nawaz Sharif is a democratically elected prime minister of the country. There is an allegation of election rigging against PML-N in the province of Punjab, however, the PPP would continue to play its role to protect democracy, he added.
