First US drone strike of the year kills six in Pakistan

MIRANSHAH: A Drone strike in North Waziristan, the first this year, targeted a house in Tibbi, Ghulam Khan Goth in Miranshah killing six suspected militants.

According to sources, a US drone fired two missiles at the house killing four Uzbek militants and two Punjabi-Taliban militants.

This is the first drone strike in 2014. Earlier in May a drone strike on the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan killed ten militants in the mountainous Nazian sub-district. The last recorded drone strike inside Pakistani territory was on 26th December 2013 in Qutub Khel, three kilometers south of Miranshah.
