BANNU: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Sunday warned the federal government that if it wanted to avert a big tragedy in coming days, it should immediately release Rs6 billion to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration for IDPs.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would have prepared itself for the upcoming challenge, had it been taken into confidence in the first place,” Imran Khan flanked by other PTI leaders said at a press conference here.
He termed the aid of Rs7,000 per family as insufficient and demanded to raise it to Rs21,000 per month.
Imran Khan said the Sindh and Punjab government’s decision of ‘not allowing entry to the IDPs is against humanity’.
He said the IDPs camp should have been set up in a settled area instead of Bakka Khel, which, according to him, remains completely empty.
The PTI chief said the IDPs were angry as they have been put in a difficult situation, adding, the prices of essential items have already shot up in Bannu.
