BRASILIA: France progressed to the quarter-finals of the World Cup courtesy of Paul Pogba's header and injury-time own goal from Joseph Yobo as Les Bleus defeated a stubborn Nigeria side in Brasilia.

The Juventus midfielder rose highest at the back post to give Didier Deschamps' side the lead with twelve minutes to go.

Former Everton defender Joseph Yobo put the ball in his own net during added time.

Earlier, score remained goalless at half-time as neither side managed to find a breakthrough

So far, five teams have reached the quarter-final stage.
