MIRPURKHAS: The police on court order have recovered 17 ‘haris’ (landless agricultural workers) including women and children from a private jail of the landlord here, Geo News reported on Friday.

Sources said the police on court order raided a private jail of the landlord located in village Zahid Khan Murree and recovered 17 haris including 5 children and women, who would be presented in the court of Mirpurkhas District and Session Judge today.

The landlord, Zahid Khan has been keeping the haris imprisoned for the last four years and forced them to work as agricultural workers on his lands.
