Geo closure: PEMRA writes letter to cable operators

LAHORE: Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed Saturday said that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has written a letters to the cable operators and hoped that every channel will be shown on TV.

Talking to newsmen here in Lahore, Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed said there are some legal bindings which must be respected. However, he added that there is no one greater in strength than the government.

He said PEMRA will have to wait for cable operators’ responses for next 15 days, adding that any step before the response will be considered unlawful.
