LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore dismissed the bail plea of Gullu Butt who was involved in smashing the cars during the clashed between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and the police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat on June 17.

A special court of the ATC had sent Gullu Butt to jail on 14-day judicial remand during the last hearing on July 19 after which the accused had filed a bail application.

The prosecutor opposed his bail plea.

After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed Gullu Butt’s bail application.

It may be mentioned here that Butt, who is also believed to be a police tout and PML-N worker, was caught vandalizing private vehicles with his baton in the presence of police officials.

The court, while rejecting the request, stated that there can’t be any facilitation for someone accused of vandalism.
