Model town tragedy: FIR lodged at Faisal Town police station

LAHORE: The case of Model town tragedy has been lodged at Faisal Town police station, Geo News reported.

The FIR has been registered against 21 persons including Prime Minister and the Chief Minister Punjab.

The Minhaj-ul-Quran has accused 21 persons including the prime minister, chief minister Punjab and federal and provincial ministers for their involvement in the Model Town incident.

Earlier, Minister for Railways and key member of government negotiating team, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the government is ready to register an FIR in the Model Town tragedy as ordered by the Lahore High Court.

The federal government had directed to register case as per the complaint of the affectees. The decision was endorsed by the Punjab government.

According to the legal team of the government, the terrorism clauses would not be included in the case besides the nominated accused would not be arrested immediately.
