Lahore: Eight die as rain causes roof collapse

LAHORE: Eight people were killed and eight others injured when a roof of several houses collapsed due to heavy rain in Lahore, Geo News reported on Thursday.

Rescue sources said six members of a family were killed in the incident that occurred in Chahmeran.

In separate incidents, eight persons were injured as the roof of two houses caved in near LDA Plaza and Mazang areas.

It may be noted here that rain, continuing since last evening, has inundated low-lying areas in Lahore and its adjacent areas. Several vehicles have struck in the rainwater.

The Met office has forecast that the downpour is expected to continue until Monday.
